“RED SOLID LINE” – Our Newest Project
“Red
Solid Line” is an original song inspired by a visit, for HIV testing, to the Aids Services
Association of Pinellas (ASAP) at the Suncoast Resort facility by James, tenor singer for
the Canaan Band. James realized the impact that HIV testing can have on members of the LGBT
community, brought his ideas of lyric and melody to the entire Canaan Band and as a group, “Red
Solid Line” was born.
Canaan and Aids Services Association of Pinellas (ASAP) then conceived the promotional and fundraising effort that has become the “Red Solid Line Project.” In a matter of weeks Canaan went into the recording studio and the end product is a single CD release of this new and exciting song … dedicated to all those living & thriving with HIV/AIDS. The new CD will feature both a radio mix and a high-energy dance remix of “Red Solid Line.” The CD project will be released and debuted June 30th on the Festival Stage of the St. Pete PRIDE Celebration.
The proceeds from the sales of this CD project will be shared between ASAP and Canaan. All of Canaan’s earnings go back into the Canaan Ministry fund. The CD will be marketed and sold by both at promotional & testing locations of ASAP and at the various concerts & venues of Canaan. It will also be available for sale on-line through CD Baby and Canaan’s websites. “The Red Solid Line” will also be distributed to both broadcast and internet radio stations as well as to many DJ’s within the GLBT community. Also, Canaan will be releasing this new song as part of their next CD release “SHINE” coming sometime toward the end of 2007. “Red Solid Line” will also be promoted and marketed for use in the many memorials & celebrations of the HIV/AIDS community to include World AIDS Day coming this December.
The message of the song is meant to encourage all those at risk within the GLBT community to “Take the Test & Take Control” as part of an overall prevention program…” after all It IS a Matter of PRIDE!” This is a song for anyone who has seen that “red solid line” … It’s Not Over! … There IS Life in the Red Solid Line.
